Drag the handle to see what a redesign does

People judge your business in the blink of an eye.

Before anyone reads a word, they've already decided whether you look trustworthy. Try it yourself.

0.05sis roughly how long it takes people to form a first impression of a website.1

Most of them are holding a phone.

If your site isn't built for small screens, people have to pinch and zoom just to find your phone number. Many won't bother.

50%+of all web browsing now happens on phones.2
  • Text too small to readVisitors have to zoom in on every line.
  • Buttons too tiny to tapEasy to miss, easy to give up on.
  • No quick way to callYour number is buried somewhere on the page.
  • Easy to read, no zoomingText and photos resize to fit any screen.
  • Big, thumb-friendly buttonsOrdering a cake takes one tap.
  • Call with one tapThe phone button stays right where thumbs can reach it.

And they won't wait for a slow page.

A slow website loses people before it even says hello. Here are two copies of the same site, loading side by side.

53%of mobile visitors leave a page that takes longer than three seconds to load.3

Here's what I build.

Every site is designed from scratch for the business it belongs to. These ones are live, so go ahead and scroll around inside them.

No tech talk. I'll translate.

Websites come with a lot of jargon. You don't need to learn any of it, but here's what it all means.

Domain
A registered hostname that DNS resolves to your server's IP address.Your address on the internet, like jdix.ca. I'll help you pick one and set it up.
Hosting
Server infrastructure that stores your files and serves them over HTTP.The place your website lives so it's open around the clock. I set it up and keep it running.
SSL certificate
An X.509 certificate that enables TLS-encrypted HTTPS connections. The little padlock that tells visitors your site is safe to use. Always included.
SEO
Optimizing crawlability, metadata and structured data to improve SERP visibility.Helping Google understand what you do, so people nearby can find you.
Responsive design
Fluid layouts that adapt across viewports using CSS media queries.Your site looks right on phones, tablets and computers, automatically.
Contact form
Client-side validated form input, posted to a serverless endpoint that relays mail.A box where customers type their question, and it lands straight in your email.

Four simple steps, and I'm with you for every one.

  1. Step 1

    We talk

Tell me about your business and what you'd like your website to do, by phone, email or text. Whatever's easiest for you.

  2. Step 2

    I design it

You see a real preview of your new site, and we adjust it together until it feels right.

  3. Step 3

    I launch it

I set up the domain, hosting, security and Google. You don't touch a single setting.

  4. Step 4

    I stay in touch

Need a change or have a question later? Just ask. You won't be left on your own.

Questions people usually ask.

Have one that isn't here? Ask it in the form below. There's no such thing as a silly question.

I'm not good with computers. Is that a problem?

Not at all. Most people I work with aren't computer people, and that's completely fine. I explain everything in plain English and take care of the technical side myself.

How much does a website cost?

Every business needs something a little different, so each project gets its own quote. You'll get a clear price up front, before any work starts, and the quote itself is always free.

How long does it take?

Most small business websites are ready in a few weeks. Your quote includes a timeline, and I'll keep you updated the whole way.

I already have a website. Can you make it better?

Yes. I can redesign your current site, keep what's working, and make sure you keep your web address.

Can I make changes myself later?

If you'd like to, yes. If you'd rather not, just send me what you want changed and I'll take care of it.

What do I need to get started?

Just a short description of your business. Photos, a logo and any wording you like are helpful, but if you don't have them, I can help with that too.
